The 2023 Vintage

2023 proved an extended yet very rewarding vintage in the Margaret River Wine Region. Optimal, dry weather conditions paired with the absence of any significant climatic challenges or disease pressure set the scene for a dependable growing season, ideal for gentle, consistent ripening across all varieties.

The fruit was harvested on 12th April, 2023.

Vinification

The wine was hand plunged in small batch open top fermenters for a total of 9 days on skins to achieve a brightly fruited wine with good flesh. It spent 15 months in neutral French oak barriques, no new oak this year.

The wine was fined with egg before bottling in September 2024.

Alc 14.5% pH 3.63, 6.1 g/L TA

  • Expressive aromatics of violets black plum, rose petal lavender, with a hint of rosemary.
  • Big, rich and opulent with juicy fruit texture
  • Medium bodied, light and creamy the palate is coated and generous showing black plum and blackberry and dark liquor chocolate.
