2020 Pinot Noir

Rosé Cheese Board

2019 Pinot Noir

The 2020 Vintage
The region enjoyed an early start to the 2020 season, with warmer than average Spring temperatures evolving into the perfect summer growing conditions. Low disease pressure, timely flowering of the native Marri trees to keep the birds at bay and little to no rain meant that winemakers could literally “take their pick” when they wanted.

Our Pinot Noir was hand harvested on the 18th February 2020 at 12.6 Baume.

The Winemaking
The fruit was hand-plunged in small batch open-top fermenters, with a total of eight days on skins. French oak barrels were used, of which 10% were brand new. To enhance texture, barrel stirring occurred towards the end of maturation. The wine was aged in barrel for ten months, and then bottled under in January 2021 under a screw cap.

Tasting Notes

• Cherry lipstick and cranberry on the nose
• Crunchy red fruits, pomegranate, red currant and red cherry
• Subtle savoury oak flavour supports and lifts fruit
• Generous, layered palate with drive and focus
• Delicate and complex
